{lovely holiday gift guide} brought to you by the TomKat Studio

{the TomKat Studio 2012 Holiday Gift Guide}

It’s that time of the year already, and if you haven’t started shopping for Christmas gifts yet, you are in luck!  Of the many gift guides that are published during the holiday season, I have to admit my favorite one is the one that the lovely Kim Stoegbauer of the TomKat Studio puts together.  The TomKat Studio 2012 Holiday Gift Guide is just full of beautiful [and practical] gifts for every one on your list!

I haven’t had time to fully go through the guide yet, but at first glance I am really loving the gift suggestions for little girls and tech lovers.  I have to admit, though, my favorite part of the guide is the many FREE printable gift tags featured in the guide.

I hope you enjoy this sweet guide as much as I do.

{Happy Shopping!}

host your own {wine tasting party}

Wine Party Printable Set

Every year, we host a wine tasting party in December to kick off the holiday season.  I usually try to create a few custom menus and rating cards to use, and this year I created a coordinating set that I wanted to share with others interested in hosting their own wine party.

I hope you enjoy my first free printable party set, and I look forward to sharing photos with all of you after the party is over.

Here are a few previews of the FREE printables, along with links to download each item separately for your personal use.

You are my Sunshine

‘You are my Sunshine’ baby shower {by Haute Decor Designs}

Here is a design board featuring pictures from my Baby Shower, themed ‘You are my Sunshine’.  The custom prints were ordered from Etsy.com, and will be used in the nursery I’m currently decorating for our little one due this April.  I styled the baby shower to mirror the nursery design — neutral gray paired with sunny yellow and bright turqouise.  Stay tuned for photos of the finished nursery….

Vintage Chic Wedding – Where the Ocean meets the Sand

Tiffany Blue Wedding Inspiration
Wedding Inspiration by Haute Decor Designs

Here is the design board I created for my sister’s wedding, who’s still in full wedding planning mode.  The idea is to keep it simple, yet elegant at the same time.  I love her choice of light blue paired with a soft neutral (beige) for her color palette.  It is truly chic and understated.

One budget-worthy idea I include in this design is setting up single bloom flowers in small glasses or jars, set on mirrors with glowing tea lights.  You can recreate this at your own event by buying small inexpensive mirrors and tea lights at somewhere like Ikea, and amass a collection of similar-colored glasses from local thrift shops.  Then, just stop by the local florist to pick up your selection of single bloom flowers the night before your big event.  Go with what’s in season to save money.

Hope you enjoy my board and tips.

Love is in the air..

Tiffany Blue Wedding Inspiration

I’m very excited to be part of a very special day coming up, for my older sister.  She recently became engaged, this past Thanksgiving, and is in the midst of planning a wedding for the summer of 2012.  I volunteered to take on the task of planning her wedding, and helping her stay on budget, so she can focus on the joy of being engaged and making all the fun decisions while I can help her keep everything under control.  She wants to keep everything simple, and wants her color theme to be ‘ocean and sand’.  I’ve been working on collecting ideas and inspiration for her wedding on Pinterest.  I have a vision of a fun wedding with aqua and yellow sprinkled throughout, keeping the day very happy and joyous for all.
