Is it just me, or is organizing a Zen like experience for you too?? I put this off for too long and so glad I took time yesterday to clear through all the clutter in our bathrooms. I started with the bathrooms because we start and end every day there, and making it a pretty space is a quick way to infuse joy into our days. It's so nice to get rid of the baskets we were using and see all the pretty bath luxuries I've been collecting over time. Tell me... What's one cluttered area of your home you'd like to organize to bring more joy into your day? See the before photo in the last frame. Successfully completed (ahem, survived) the first full week of back to school. Kids love their new teachers and Lucas is still not a huge fan of homework. He strongly believes he should do all his schoolwork at school. I don't blame him. Girls love making new friends and are very excited to be reunited with some special friends they were separated from last year, who just happen to be boys...🙄 I'm blessed with the kindness my sweet ones display with their teachers and friends and so grateful for my sweet hubby's dedication to them every day. Like I don't have enough on my plate, I'm left to 'babysit' my kids' kids all day; beeping won't stop! These little eggs are mini tamagatchis (?) that need to be fed, cleaned up after and given candy. They poop, sleep, grow old and die. Repeat. Oh and cry for attention (beep) every few hours. Meet Luk (Lucas' boy), Lily(.9) (Zoe's girl) and Lucy aka Sophie (Eva's girl)... At least they are learning how to be responsible, right?? Beating the heat!! Love celebrating summer with lazy days at home like this... Less than two weeks til they're back in school. We are grilling and listening to reggaeton while sipping on rosé cider and watching these kids go crazy. I remember cooling down in the summer with fire hydrants in our neighborhood and long days at the Jersey shore. I hope my sweet children will look back fondly on these memories of summer like I treasure my own. How are you celebrating the last days of summer?? Friday nights 'in' are kinda our thing this summer... Finally got around to having a special $200 bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary, which paired beautifully with Mayan chocolate gifted from Vic's father's day Tequila Sunrise @mantry crate this month .. Pretty little things fuel my day. That, and a huge cup of coffee, of course. I'm so happy with the small changes we are slowly making around the house to make things pretty while also simplifying our days and lives. I've also made good progress on my summer bucket list. Tried new ice cream - pancake and waffles by @halotopcreamery, went to the spa @bocaresort, reading my third book this month (look me up on @goodreads) and simply slowing things down a lot with my business @blushandwhite after all the prep work I did before the summer. Summer is still flying by though. How are you making the most of this fleeting season? Read any good books lately? I'm currently reading 'We could be beautiful' and watching 'Sharp objects' come to life on HBO. Happy summer! My Daily Calm quote truly speaks to me today. After spending most of yesterday de-cluttering and organizing the kids room (again) my body is telling me it's time to rest. I feel a bad cold coming on as I force my body to slow when my mind wants to keep going. I started my day backwards today, soaking in an Epsom bath in the morning after reviewing my summer goals. I'm such a natural at productivity goals but 'resting' does not come easy. Wishing you a relaxing Sunday enjoying summer before it's over. Let's slow down together. Breathe in. Breathe out.
